Poster Presentation Information

The Poster session will be on Friday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. We're planning a special dessert along with other refreshments to encourage folks to stay longer. Poster presenters will be able to set up their poster any time that day, starting at 8:00 AM. I strongly encourage you to set up early so conference participants can browse the posters all day Friday.

Each poster will be displayed on a 30" x 40" poster board. You can arrange it either landscape or portrait. FSU will provide the poster board (white), an easel, tape, and push pins. Some will choose to build their poster out of a series of 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper, but others will produce a single poster-sized printout of their work. These poster-sized printouts are often more appealing. PowerPoint can be used to create posters. I've located a few links online with a simple Google search that might be helpful -- I won't vouch for them.

There is a copy shop (Target Copy) just a couple of blocks away from where the conference is being held. They are open 24 hrs and can print posters of any size. A full color 30x40 poster printed from a disk or CD would run about $50-60. Black and White must be cheaper. You could also e-mail it to them. So, you can either bring your printed materials with you, or you can bring them on a disk and print them at the copy shop.

If your poster is based on a paper, you might want to submit the paper in advance of the conference to the Working Papers archive on the PolMeth web site. If you do, we'll create a link to it from the conference web site.

If you have any problems or questions, please e-mail Tom Carsey at FSU.
